Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium (PP) funding is a vital source of financial support for schools in England, designed specifically to address the educational needs of disadvantaged pupils. This funding is allocated based on the number of eligible pupils within a school, with specific criteria determining eligibility. Those who qualify include children who are eligible for or have been eligible for free school meals within the past six years, looked-after children, and children who were previously looked after.

The allocation of Pupil Premium funding is directly linked to pupil numbers recorded in either the Autumn or Spring School Census, depending on the school type. This ensures that the funding accurately reflects the demographic composition of the student body, thereby enabling schools to effectively target resources where they are needed most.

At Broadwood, we take our commitment to maximising the impact of Pupil Premium funding very seriously. Our Pupil Premium strategy clearly outlines how we intend to utilise this funding to support our disadvantaged children. We have conducted a thorough assessment of their individual needs, ensuring that our approach is both tailored and purposeful. By fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment, we aim to help our disadvantaged pupils thrive academically and socially, thereby reducing the attainment gap and enabling all students to achieve their full potential. We are dedicated to monitoring and evaluating our strategies to assure that they yield positive outcomes for those who require additional support.
