School Day

7:30am
OUT OF SCHOOL CLUB - we provide an Out of School Club for parents/carers who work. As well as Broadwood children we also care for children from 2 other local primary schools. If you would like your child to attend our Out of School Club, please come into school and speak to Mrs Dawn Ashworth, the manager.

8:15am
BREAKFAST CLUB - At Broadwood we provide a FREE Breakfast Club for all children in our school. Children need to be supervised by an adult if they wish to attend.

8:45am
Staff go out on yard duty in the KS2 yard. All children from KS1 and KS2 should begin to meet in the KS2 yard ready for the school day. Nursery and Reception parents/carers should bring their children through the KS2 yard and around the left hand side of the KS2 building. They should then follow the path to the Nursery and Reception Class entrances, where they will be met by staff.

8:55am
The school day begins. Year 6 monitors will ring the bell and all children should line up in front of their class teacher.

8:55am - 10.05am
Registration, followed by core subject delivery (9:05am - 11:00am). The majority of children will have a Literacy or Maths lesson. Lessons begin at 9:05 in KS1 and 2.

10:55am - 11:10am Breaktime KS1

11:00am - 11:15am Breaktime KS2

11:40am - 12:30pm
KS2 children are taught a foundation subject. This might include Computing, PE, Creative Curriculum, Art, DT, PSHCE, Music or RE.

12:00pm
Nursery, Reception and KS1 children have lunch in our Dining Hall.

12:30pm
KS2 lunchtime begins.

12:45pm
End of Nursery, Reception and KS1 lunchtime.

1:10pm - 1:25pm
KS1 ERIC Time - Every Child Reads in Class

1:10pm
End of KS2 lunchtime.

1:00pm - 3:00pm
Afternoon session for Nursery, Reception and KS1 School ends for these children at 3:00pm. The Nursery and Reception children can be collected from the Nursery and Reception entrances and KS1 children should be collected from the doors at the bottom of the KS1 yard.

1:10pm - 1:25pm
KS2 ERIC Time - Every Child Reads in Class

1:25pm - 3:10pm
KS2 afternoon sessions. The school day ends at 3:10 for KS2 children. The children should be collected from the doors in the KS2 yard.

2.30pm
 On Monday and Friday we have a whole school assembly. Monday is an attendance assembly led by the Headteacher and Friday is a 'Merit Assembly' led by a class teacher and is an assembly with a theme. All Children have a special time in the day (after registration) for collective worship and a thoughtful prayer. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday most children have phonics sessions at this time. Children in K.S.2 have phonics sessions, or spelling, grammar and punctuation lessons.
