Mini Police

2nd April 2019

We are very proud to be part of the Mini Police project.  The Mini Police have been learning about how the police keep us safe and about how to stay safe online.  They picked litter in Denton Dene to help the local community stay tidy.  On Tuesday 3rd April the children were thrilled to meet three different police dogs and learn about their roles.  One of them, Isla, is a puppy who is being trained to replace another dog, Colin when he retires.   Colin has a very important job to help the police to find weapons, cash and drugs.  Another, Mick, is used to catch criminals and missing people.  The children said: "I think the Mini Police project is really fun and interesting because we get try new things," and "It gave us an opportunity to learn that the police are also people like us."
