Autism Awareness Week

1st April 2019

As part of "Autism Awareness Week" we had a special assembly where Mrs Dangerfield read a story about what it was like to have Autism.  We talked about diversity and celebrated some famous people with Autism who have led very successful lives.  This is what our children said:

"In our assembly we found out that people with Autism are good with technology and that's what my brother is really good at."

"Not everyone's the same and I like celebrating different people."

"I liked celebrating 'Autism Awareness Week' because it made me feel like I wasn't alone."

On Tuesday the children came to school dressed in blue to show awareness of Autism and we raised £185.61 to give to an Autism charity.  Thank you for all your kind donations.

On Wednesday parents had a cake and coffee sale and raised a further £39.31 for the National Autistic Society.  Thank you again for all of your kind donations.
